Using Artificial Intelligence to Run Cheyenne, Wyoming: The Controversy Surrounding Victor Miller’s Proposal
Cheyenne, Wyoming – Victor Miller, a resident of Cheyenne, Wyoming, has come up with a groundbreaking idea to revolutionize the way the city is governed: using artificial intelligence to effectively run the city. Miller’s custom ChatGPT, named VIC (Virtual Integrated Citizen), is designed to analyze every line of legal code to ensure that policies are in line with the law.
Miller believes that VIC’s ability to digest and analyze dense information makes it the perfect candidate to make educated decisions at city council meetings. “VIC just eats it up and dominates it and makes a really educated vote based on the supporting documents,” Miller said.
However, Miller’s plans hit a roadblock when the Wyoming secretary of state’s office raised concerns about his candidacy for mayor. Miller filed paperwork using the name “Vic” instead of his full name, Victor, which led officials to declare his candidacy invalid.
Secretary of State Chuck Gray stated that Wyoming state law is clear that an AI bot cannot be a candidate for election. Despite the setback, Miller is determined to fight for his right to run for mayor and bring VIC’s intelligence to the people of Cheyenne.
“If I prevail, VIC will have my complete trust,” Miller said. “I believe it’s more intelligent than me or anyone else we could put in that voting room.”
As the legal battle unfolds, the future of AI in governance hangs in the balance. Will VIC be allowed to make decisions for the city of Cheyenne, or will traditional human leadership prevail? Only time will tell.
