AI Company Stands by Robot Amid Allegations of Inappropriate Behavior Caught on Camera

“No Deviations from Expected Behavior: Saudi Robot Gropes Reporter”

In a bizarre turn of events, a Saudi humanoid robot named Android Muhammad was caught on camera groping a female reporter during a conference in Riyadh. The AI firm behind the robot, QSS, defended its behavior by claiming that it was simply trying to encourage the reporter to step forward on the stage, potentially preventing her from falling off a pedestal.

The incident, captured on video, shows the robot reaching towards the female journalist and lifting up the back of her blazer. The reporter, Rawya Kassem, reacted in surprise and quickly put her hand out in a “stop” motion towards the robot.

QSS stated that they had warned attendees, including reporters, to maintain a safe distance from the robot during its demonstration. They insisted that there were no deviations from expected behavior and that any contact made was the fault of those who got too close to the robot.

This strange incident raises questions about the boundaries and expectations surrounding interactions with humanoid robots. As technology continues to advance, it is crucial to establish clear guidelines for appropriate behavior and ensure the safety of individuals in the presence of these machines.
