YouTube will soon allow viewers to use a Google lens to search for what they see while watching shorts

YouTube announced On Thursday, it brings Google lenses to YouTube shorts in the coming weeks. Thanks to this integration, viewers will soon be able to use the Google lens to search for what they see while watching shorts.

For example, if you are watching a short shot in the place where you want to visit, you can choose a landmark and ask the lens to identify it. From there you will be able to learn more about the culture and history of the destination.

By integrating lenses with shorts, YouTube works on improving visual search capabilities and gives users more ways to discover and search for content in an intuitive and interactive way.

It makes sense that the company improves searching for viewers from YouTube Shorts by using the Google lens, especially since Tiktok and Instagram Rele do not offer similar functionality.

After completing the function, users will be able to try it by stopping the short, and then selecting the “lens” option in the upper menu. Then they will have to draw, distinguish or touch something they want to search. Then the lens will provide visual matches and search results imposed in a short one. After the short one, you can jump back into the content you watched.

YouTube says that users do not see ads in search results during the beta lens phase in shorts. The Google company also notes that the lens in shorts is not available for shorts with links associated for YouTube shopping or paid product promotions.

YouTube begins to introduce a beta version for all viewers this week.

Today's advertisement appears when YouTube builds shorts with additional possibilities to take part in Tiktok and Instagram rollers.

In April, YouTube announced new upcoming functions that were designed to help creators publishing engaging films with short forms. The creators will gain access to an improved video editor, the ability to generate AI stickers, a function that synchronizes the content with the rhythm of the song, improved templates and many others.
