According to the company, the Google AI Gemini chatbot has exceeded 750 million monthly active users (MAU). Results for the fourth quarter of 2025. This figure illustrates the rapid consumer adoption of Gemini, which has quickly become a significant player in the AI space.
Last quarter, Google reported 650 million monthly active Gemini users, indicating significant growth in the short term. By comparison, Meta AI reported almost 500 million monthly users. However, while Gemini is gaining in popularity, it still lags behind its biggest rival, ChatGPT, which has an estimated MAU count of around 810 million at the end of 2025.
The recently revealed issue comes on the heels of the launch of Gemini 3, which showcases the company's most advanced model to date, delivering responses that the company says feature an unprecedented level of depth and nuance.
CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized that the launch of Gemini 3 in AI mode was a “positive factor” for the company's growth and emphasized that further investments and iterations will maintain this momentum.
Recently, Google introduced the cheaper Google AI Plus plan, which is priced at $7.99 per month. The plan is expected to fuel further growth, appealing to budget-conscious consumers, although it was released too recently to have any impact on the quarterly figures.
“We're focused on free and subscriptions and we're seeing a lot of growth,” Philipp Schindler, Google's chief business officer, said on a call with investors.
Gemini's growth is particularly notable given Alphabet's overall financial performance. The company surpassed $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time in history this quarter. Google attributes this achievement to the expansion of its AI division, which has seen increased demand. Recently, Google introduced the latest generation of its TPU AI accelerator chip called Ironwood to compete with Nvidia.
