Surat Municipal School Students to Learn AI, Coding, and Robotics as Part of Curriculum
The Surat Suman School Board, under the Surat Municipal Corporation, is set to introduce courses in artificial intelligence, drone technology, robotics, and coding for students in Classes 9 to 12 starting from the next academic year. This initiative aims to equip students with essential skills in emerging technologies and make them more competitive in the digital age.
SMC Commissioner Shalini Agrawal highlighted the importance of introducing these courses to create awareness among students and make them more skilled. The courses will be included in the municipal corporation budget for 2024-25, ensuring that students have access to quality education in these areas.
To implement this initiative, the Suman School Board is planning to collaborate with professional agencies that specialize in providing education in these fields. The courses will be initially introduced as a pilot project in 10 schools, with plans to expand further in the future.
Administrator Dharmesh Patel mentioned that they are exploring options like Public-Private Partnerships and Corporate Social Responsibility funds to support the implementation of these courses and alleviate any financial constraints.
