Earlier today we have announced some changes that will speed up our progress in artificial intelligence and help us safely and responsibly develop more talented AI systems. Below is a summary of what the general director of Deepmind Demis Hassabis has made available to employees:

When we launched Deepmind in 2010, many people thought that General AI was a long -range science fiction technology, which was decades from being reality.
Now we live in a time when AI research and technology develop exponentially. In the coming years, AI – and ultimately Agi – can increase one of the largest social, economic and scientific transformations in history.
That's why today Sundar announces This Deepmind and brain syndrome with Google Research will join forces as a single, concentrated unit called Google Deepmind. Combining our talents and efforts will speed up our progress towards the world in which AI helps to solve the greatest challenges that humanity faces, and I am incredibly excited that I can lead this individual and cooperate with you to build it. Together, in close cooperation with our fantastic colleagues in the areas of Google products, we have a real opportunity to provide AI research and products that radically improve the lives of billions of people, transform industries, advanced teachings and serve various communities.
By creating Google Deepmind, I think we can reach this future faster. Building more and more talented and general artificial intelligence, safely and responsibly, requires that we solve one of the most difficult scientific and engineering challenges of our time. For this purpose, we must work at higher speed, stronger cooperation and performance, and simplify the way we make decisions to focus on achieving the greatest influence.
Thanks to Google Deepmind, we combine our world -class talent in artificial intelligence with computing force, infrastructure and resources to create another generation of AI breakthroughs and products in Google and Alphabet, and do it in a bold and responsible way. The progress of research from phenomenal brain syndromes and deep teams has been laid by many foundations of the current AI industry, from deep strengthening to learning transformers, and the work that we will now perform as part of this new combined unit will create another wave of breakthroughs that change the world.
Sundar, Jeff Dean, James Manyika and I built a fantastic partnership when we worked on coordinating our efforts in recent months. I am looking forward to close cooperation with Eli Collins, who will join my team of potential customers as a Vice President for Product, and Zoubin Ghahramani, who will join the team for Research, reporting to Koraya Kavukcuoglu. We also create a new scientific board for Google Deepmind to supervise the test progress and the direction of the individual that will be conducted by Koray and will have representatives from various orgs. Jeff, Koray, Zoubin, Shane and I will be finalizing the composition of this board together in the coming days.
