First-of-its-kind Medical Competition Held at 10th International Conference in Dermatology and Aesthetics in Abu Dhabi
The 10th edition of the International Conference in Dermatology and Aesthetics (AIDA) in Abu Dhabi has been making waves with its groundbreaking educational initiatives and cutting-edge discussions on the latest developments in the field.
One of the highlights of the conference was a first-of-its-kind medical competition for newly graduated dermatologists from residency programs in several GCC countries. Twelve doctors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kuwait participated in the competition, which tested their knowledge of medical and histology questions, as well as general cultural questions. The Kuwaiti team emerged victorious, with the UAE team coming in second place.
Dr. Khaled Othman, Founder and Conference Chair, highlighted the importance of leveraging technology and innovation in dermatology and cosmetology. He emphasized the role of the fourth industrial revolution and artificial intelligence in enhancing the treatment of dermatological diseases and revolutionizing the beauty industry.
Dr. Huda Rajab, Chair-Elect and Co-Chair of the Dermatology Program, underscored the significance of the conference in providing essential scientific material for dermatologists. The event featured presentations on a wide range of topics, including anti-aging treatments, skin enhancers, scar correction, and the use of artificial intelligence in medicine.
The conference also addressed the latest advancements in aesthetics, aesthetic medicine, and the use of ultrasound in aesthetic procedures. A panel discussion on thiamidol, a novel treatment for hyperpigmentation, and workshops on psoriasis and allergy immunotherapy were also held.
With an estimated attendance of 750 international experts, doctors, and specialists, the AIDA conference has become a hub for exchanging ideas, learning about the latest developments, and networking with industry leaders. The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has accredited the conference with continuing medical education hours, further solidifying its reputation as a premier event in the field of dermatology and aesthetics.
