After Radio-Canada reached out to Amazon, the listing for the book was removed. An analysis by Originality.ai confirmed that the book was likely AI-generated with 100% confidence, highlighting the challenges of detecting machine-written content.

While AI technology has its benefits, Gerhard cautioned that it is not foolproof and can sometimes produce bland or inaccurate text. He acknowledged using AI tools in his own work but stressed the need for a new mental model that accepts the occasional errors made by computational systems.

The incident serves as a reminder of the potential pitfalls of relying on AI for content creation, especially in fields where accuracy and expertise are crucial.
