Georgia Tech’s AI Makerspace: Training the Next Generation of AI Experts

Georgia Tech Partners with Nvidia to Launch AI Makerspace Supercomputer

Georgia Tech has taken a major step towards preparing its students for the evolving IT job market with the launch of the AI Makerspace supercomputer. In collaboration with chipmaker Nvidia, the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech has built a powerful supercomputer equipped with 20 Nvidia HGX H100 servers powered by 160 Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs.

The AI Makerspace supercomputer offers students and professors access to advanced generative AI, AI, and machine learning creation and training. With the computing power of these GPUs, students can now work on projects that were previously out of reach due to limited resources.

Matthieu Bloch, the associate dean for academics at Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering, shared insights on the Makerspace project and its significance. He highlighted the importance of providing students with the tools and infrastructure needed to work on meaningful AI projects that are relevant to industry demands.
