Tiktok announced on Wednesday that he is expanding its package of availability tools, implementing AI generated ALT text for photos, high contrast mode and support for bold text preferences at the device level.
A few weeks ago, Tikktok introduced ALT text support for photos, enabling creators to provide a descriptive text for photos that will help users with screen readers understand visual content using spoken descriptions. Now the company is testing the ALLT text generated by AI to automatically describe photos aloud when the creators do not add ALT text manually.

As for the new high control mode, users will be able to turn it on with the new “color contrast” option in the application availability section. In this way, it will increase the color of the first text plan, icons and elements of the user interface. This change will make Tiktok more useful for people with a low vision or sensitivity to low contrast, says the company.
Tiktok now also warns the bold setting of the user's device text, which means that it will automatically display the entire text in the brave application when it is enabled. This increases the readability of users who prefer or rely on bolder fonts.
