Universal Robots Showcases AI Solutions at Automate 2024
Universal Robots Emerges as Preferred Robotics Platform for AI Solutions at Automate 2024
Novi, Michigan – May 1, 2024 – Universal Robots (UR) is set to redefine the frontiers of physical AI at North America’s largest automation show, Automate 2024 in Chicago. With the theme of “ChatGPT moment for robots,” UR will showcase how artificial intelligence is moving beyond digital confines to power robotic applications with humanlike perception.
Ujjwal Kumar, group president of Teradyne Robotics, UR’s parent company, stated, “We are entering an era of intelligent automation where robots can learn from and adapt to their surroundings in real-time. This opens new possibilities for complex, creative, and collaborative tasks, transforming robots from tools into intelligent partners that enhance workplace productivity and creativity.”
At UR’s booth #1541, visitors can witness an AI-powered autonomous inspection solution with robotic path planning 50-80x faster than current solutions, thanks to NVIDIA’s accelerated path planning tools. UR has collaborated closely with NVIDIA to incorporate AI capabilities into its upcoming PolyScope X operating software.
Several AI-driven partner solutions will be on display at Automate, including Photoneo’s AI-enabled multi-view localization solution for 3D bin picking and Siemens’ SIMATIC Robot Pick AI for autonomous bin picking in warehousing and e-commerce applications.
UR will also showcase its latest cobot models, including the UR30 with high torque capabilities and the UR20 with extended reach and payload capabilities. The coordinated motion feature will enable cobots to weld more parts per run, increasing efficiency in fabrication processes.
A new service offering, UR Care, will ensure optimal uptime for UR cobots with prompt onsite repairs and 24/7 remote availability. Additionally, visitors can explore mobile cobots, take tours of UR’s ecosystem, participate in scavenger hunts, and attend UR presentations on various topics related to collaborative automation.
The UR Education Zone at booth #5575 will provide students and educators with hands-on experience using UR cobots, empowering tomorrow’s workforce with valuable skills in robotics and automation.
Teradyne Robotics’ Ujjwal Kumar expressed excitement about engaging with customers at Automate, stating, “No matter where they are in their cobot journey, we will be ready to engage, listen, and help them advance.”
